MLP (Metalife Polymer)

Introducing MLP...an advanced new form of surface treatment combining our TDC process with a proprietary polymer compound, only available through Metalife Industries.

MLP has many advantages over other coatings you may be more familiar with.

Advantages & Characteristics

MLP has many of the physical properties of our TDC coating but with the impregnation of our proprietary polymer compound we create a very unique surface.  MLP is smooth, attractive, and completely uniform.    The extremely slippery surface means that the heat and friction problems created in many applications are reduced substantially.

Unlike many other industrial coatings MLP will not separate from the base metal.  In addition, with a processing temperature of 195F there will not be any affects on the tensile strength of your tooling or parts.  Although harder coatings are available, outperforming MLP is a tough task with all the additional benefits it has to offer.

Independent Test

The graph to the left represents test results performed by Concurrent Technologies Corp.  These tests measured the difference in ejection loads under identical conditions.  Various types of materials with a variety of lubricant % were compacted to compare the difference between an uncoated die vs. and MLP coated die.  The left side of the chart represents ejection loads in lbs.  The MLP coated die required approximately 43% less ejection load without lubricant.
